Abnormal tread wear will at best reduce the life of your tires. At worst it can result in a handling problem that can put you, your passengers and other drivers at risk.
Some tread wear concerns are visible by looking at the vehicle. Some however, especially on wider tires or with limited fender clearance will require an inspection on a hoist where the tire can be rotated to check the entire surface of the tire and sidewalls of damage.
Some problems can be as simple as adjusting the tire pressure to the correct front and rear specs as indicated on the vehicle decal (not the pressure on the side of the tire). Or cleaning mud out of rims and re-balancing the tires
Other problems may require replacement of suspension components and/or completing a wheel alignment.
Noticing tire wear problems early will ensure that you can protect your investment in the tires as well as ensuring that you keep your vehicle safe
Rotating tires every 10-12,000 Km (As the Tire Manufacturers recommend) will ensure the most even wear, extend tread life and provide an opportunity to verify they are wearing evenly.
